The narrative of this episode takes place between “The Genuine Article” and “Truth or Dare”. “Romance Languages” had originally been scheduled[17] to air on November 6, 2011 (one week after “The Genuine Article”), but ABC instead aired “Truth or Dare” on that date.[18][19] ABC aired “Romance Languages” three months later, opposite the Grammy Awards on CBS,[20] with no in-story explanation for the out-of-order action.[21]
